Elizabeth Remodel

These homeowners didn’t have to sell their house to get a new-house feel. The problem: the first floor layout was not working for their family any longer. The solution: opening up the wall between the dining room and kitchen to give the two rooms a better flow. We bumped out the kitchen wall in the back of the house so the owners could put in a large island with lots of storage and seating.  We revamped the mudroom and with more storage and built-ins as well as updating the half bath with wallpaper and wainscoting. We removed the two rarely used sliders in the family room and replaced them with two large windows which still let in a lot of sunlight. We added two smaller windows which flank the fireplace along with a fresh coat of white paint which makes the space feel larger and coordinates with the kitchen. The renovations didn’t stop on the inside either!  The owner’s deck needed to be replaced and they opted for a brand-new covered deck and patio. They installed a space heater on the deck making it usable three seasons out of the year in New England!
